Mountain Bike

Cross-country mountain biking (XCO) is a mass-start endurance race over rough terrain, looping a 4-6 km course 6-8 times for 1.5-2 hours, with full-suspension bikes, dropper posts, and tubeless tires. The "technical section" (rock gardens, log-overs, drops) separates winners from losers, the climb is where the race is won, and the elite field drafts when possible, but MTB is mostly an individual time trial effort against gravity, mud, and dust.
