Weightlifting

The purest display of brute force: Weightlifting features the Snatch (one continuous motion from floor to overhead) and the Clean & Jerk (clean to shoulders, then jerk overhead), with three attempts per lift and the total determining the winner. The "hook grip" prevents the bar from rolling, the "split jerk" (feet front/back) is the most common technique, and it's a 3-second explosion of controlled rage on a 4m x 4m platform.
